Sappi Fine Paper North America, known for innovation and quality, is a preeminent North American producer of coated fine and release papers and market pulp headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Its coated fine papers, with highly recognized brand names such as McCoy, Opus, Somerset and Flo, are used in premium magazines, catalogs, books and high-end print advertising. An integrated pulp and paper producer, with state-of-the-art pulp mills, Sappi is the third largest seller of hardwood pulp in North America. Sappi Fine Paper North America is a subsidiary of Sappi Limited, a global company headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, with manufacturing operations on four continents in eight countries, sales offices in 35 countries, and customers in over 100 countries around the world.

History
Sappi Fine Paper North Americas roots can be traced back as far as 1854 to the S.D. Warren Company, who owned and operated the Westbrook mill and several other U.S. paper mills, up until its acquisition by Sappi Fine Paper North America in 1995. Though Sappis North American past is deeply rooted in our nations papermaking heritage, our future will always be marked by our global presence reaching four continents. Today we are the preeminent producer of coated fine paper in North America with a production capacity of 1.3 million tons of paper annually. We are also responsible for many industry firsts, such as the first paper coated and calendered on two sides, first dull coated paper, and the first mill branded LOE paper

Market Focus
Sappi has two North American mill sites that produce coated paper, the Somerset Mill and the Cloquet Mill. Sappis coated fine papers, with highly recognized brand names such as McCoy, Opus, Somerset and Flo, are used in premium magazines, catalogs, books and high-end print advertising.
